Option 1: Creators self-source your product
A great option for Custom Content is when a product is widely available and can be accessed at no or very little cost by our creators. For example, a chocolate bar or toothpaste, or a popular brand of a car. In this case, you will have no additional costs and standard production timelines apply.
If your product can be self-sourced, but needs a dedicated purchase and the value of the product is more than $50 USD, the product value per brief would require reimbursement to our creators. This cost will be additionally invoiced to you according to the number of participants in the brief (usually 5 creators). The additional cost will be = (value of your product) * 5
Please include in the briefing form the information on where the product is available and can be purchased from.
Option 2: You provide the product
If your product requires shipping (for example, it is not yet launched, or not freely available), we will pre-select 5 participating creators based on your brief requirements, for shipments to be organized.
Our team will advise if you need to ship your products to a Getty Images office (in which case we then distribute the product to participating creators), or if you need to send your products to creators directly.
Please include in the briefing form the number of units you're able to provide, shipping person contact details, where the product will be shipped from, and any restrictions.
1. If you're sending your product directly to creators:
- Once your brief is accepted into our production, within 5-7 business days of that date we will assign participating creators based on your brief requirements, and provide you the addresses for shipment in a secure online form
- Please complete your shipment ideally within one week
- Once completed, please add shipment tracking information in the provided form, so our team can confirm the receipt of the product
- You can expect your brief to be delivered within approximately 4 weeks after the participating creators receive the product. Your Custom Content account manager will advise the exact date once confirmed.
- If you need the product to be returned, please provide pre-paid return shipping labels with the original shipment. Please note that returns are limited to products valued at USD 200 or more.
2. If you're sending your product to a Getty Images office:
- Once you brief is accepted into production, you can immediately ship your products to a Getty Images office. Your Custom Content account manager will advise when you can ship, and the designated address. Please do not ship to a Getty Images address you find yourself online, as the shipment addresses may vary.
- Please complete the shipment as soon as possible, ideally within one week
- Once completed, please advise the shipment details to your Custom Content account manager
- You can expect your brief to be delivered within approximately 5 weeks after your shipment is delivered to the Getty Images office. Your Custom Content account manager will advise the exact date once confirmed. Our team will advise if there any any unforeseen shipping delays to contributors that may affect this timeline.
Product returns when shipping
Returns are only possible for products valued $200 USD or more with pre-paid return label(s) provided. Please contact your Custom Content account manager with any questions.
Providing product information in the brief
Please describe your requirements in the dedicated section of the briefing form:
- You can add information about the product itself and key features if you'd like, including relevant website links to ensure the right product is featured
- Please include the approximate cost of your product in USD
- The field is key for describing how your product should be featured in images or videos: specific angles, correct usage instructions, etc.
- Please make sure you read the terms & conditions for Product Placement briefs and acknowledge them in the brief before proceeding. The conditions are as follows:
Your Brief may indicate that the content includes one or more of your products (the “Customer Products”). In such instance(s), (i) you must send the Customer Products at your expense to an address designated by Getty Images, (ii) you understand and agree that Getty Images bares no liability for any lost or broken Customer Products; and (iii) you understand and agree Getty Images provides no representations or warranties in connection with the depiction of your Customer Products in the content. You may request that Getty Images returns Customer Products to you, provided such returns are limited to (i) Customer Products valued at US$200.00 or higher and/or (ii) where you have included a pre-paid return label for shipment back to you.
